City and Guilds - CDROM

The Brief

City & Guilds required an interactive sales tool for its e-learning platforms -  the Global Online Assessment Program (GOLA) deals with the scheduling, examining and assessing of students online, whilst SmartScreen is an online resource for tutors, learners and test centers.

The Solution

As with many businesses nowadays, City and Guilds’ e-Learning products are internet based.   Because of this they need to be digitally packaged in a manner that enables the sales team to easily demonstrate the benefits, like their ease of use and diversity, to potential learning centers and tutors.

We worked closely with City and Guilds to fully understand the world of e-Learning and teaching, as the platform developed by City and Guilds is large and rich in functions. There was a fixed budget, so we clearly planned the project to make best use of the money available.

Each section of the CD-ROM is introduced by industry experts and key members of the City and Guilds team, followed by video testimonials from centre managers, tutors and students. The main features of both the GOLA and SmartScreen platforms are effectively demonstrated with the use of animation, video and voiceover. The CD-ROM contains interactive examinations, and a large variety of tutor and student support material is available to download. Web links, a questions and answers section, and full subscription details are also included.

The main objective of the project was to assist sales by informing centers, tutors and learners of the wealth of support available through SmartScreen, and of the huge cost and time savings delivered by GOLA. Initially 10,000 CD-ROMs were mailed out to centers nationwide, and early signs suggest that these have  been brilliantly received.
