Project Introduction
In 2000, following years of negotiation, United Attractions
put together the first football Hall of Fame, based
in County Hall, London.
Digital Marmalade was commissioned to manage all
the multimedia aspects of the attraction.
Project Build
As multimedia consultants on the project development
team, we were involved selling the Hall of Fame concept
to the football industry, the public, the voting panel,
and the players themselves, as well as assisting in
finding sponsorship partners to fund key areas of
the build.
3D walkthroughs of the attraction, player statistic
information, and interviews with celebrity fans all
formed the basis of the a promotional CD-ROM and video.
Once funding was in place Digital Marmalade created
13 different touch screen applications, which celebrate
each of the 12 Famers’ careers and the Premiership
as a whole. We did this by conducting 40 minute filmed
interviews with the players, choosing their ‘Golden
Game’ and profiling their career in a variety
of ways.
Although access to approved, archived material was
limited, the packages developed were comprehensive
and fully interactive. The touch screens worked alongside
life size waxworks of the players and were a key feature
to the attraction.
Our involvement also included the planning and building
of the attraction’s website.
