Project Introduction
We worked with the team at The Chapel on their previous
website, in 2001. Being in an industry where style
and fashion are important, they approached us to re-design
the site to reflect the current vogue. The brief was
to create a site reflecting the excellence of the
chapel concept, ethos of the brand and calming ambience
of the outlet.
Project Build
The new design combines various changes within the
spa with striking photography of The Chapel. The choice
of warm colours and the use of subtle animation, help
create a sense of a relaxed, informal environment,
whilst being informative and knowledgeable, in a unobtrusive
way.
The navigation throughout the site is simple and
intuitive - each of the specialist areas of treatment
are spilt into sections - so that users with specific
needs can get to the relevant information quickly.
The site makes use of QuickTime VR technology, which
enables the user to take a tour around the chapel,
using 360 degree, interactive photos.
The visitor can also meet the team and read customers’
feedback before making a booking.
It was important to make visiting the site more of
an emotional experience rather than just an explanatory
one. The feedback received from customers at The Chapel
is that the enjoyable, relaxing experience of using
site is similar to the feeling of going to the Chapel
itself. Mission Accomplished!
The site itself has been short-listed in the Pantone
‘Best UK Salon’ category for 2004.
