Project Introduction
Gecko Direct wanted a ‘professional’ web
site to promote the services it offered. Whilst being
interesting and informative, it needed to be simple
to navigate and fast to load.
The project was split into two distinct elements,
the first to build a site, aimed at current and potential
customers, which explains Gecko (in terms of its services,
culture and ability). The second was to enhance the
website with practical business functionality.
Project Build
With a starting brief of making the gecko run across
the screen, we broke the site down into manageable
modules – namely static HMTL, flash elements,
programming and business solutions.
We strove hard to visually present something that
looked professional and reflected the fact that Gecko
don’t take themselves too seriously - in-line
with it’s corporate culture.
A ‘backend’ publishing tools was developed
to allow the non-technical members of staff to upload
case studies to the site, and control published information,
without any propriety software requirements or technical
knowledge.
A remote client sign-off facility was built to enable
Gecko to upload files for specific clients to sign-off
work in progress, an FTP area was built to allow seamless
transfer of large files to and from their client base.
The business solutions developed presented Gecko
as an experienced agency who take the hassle out of
complex tasks and in doing so save their clients'
money.
