Project Introduction
The site needed to be developed to encompass the two
complimentary businesses within the group (‘landscaping’
and ‘maintenance’). Our brief was to position
the company “a leap frog away from the competition”.
The key aims were to look professional, communicate
recent changes and to let the quality of the work
do the talking in order to increase sales. The site
needed to be scalable and built with a content management
system that would enable to staff at The Landscape
Group to add content easily.
Project Build
It was essential for a site of this nature to have
complete buy-in from both companies and the group
as a whole before production began. To aid this process,
we planned, explained and answered all production
concerns prior to the work beginning, ensuring all
key decision makers knew what they were getting, and
how the site would work.
The site is split into two, based on an identical
structure, each with a unique colouring. This approach
gives the companies a much stronger combined proposition
as the Landscape Group, as well as allowing us to
make the most of the budget by sharing back-end programming
resources.
We delivered a site that is pleasing on the eye,
and is powered by a powerful content management system,
which our client never thought was possible. This
system allows total control over news, project case
studies, employment opportunities, and the gives the
client the ability to publish newsletters.
From a development perspective, what marks this site
out from the rest it is how the information is referenced
and displayed. A search engine facility allows he
user to find projects by cost, date, rating, industry
or location, so the user can easily find content relevant
to them.
