New LMA Website Launched

LMA Website

The League Managers Association (LMA), the collective representative voice for all Premiership and Football League managers, has launched its brand new Digital Marmalade built website. We were called in to create a site that reflects the professional status of The LMA, as its previous website was not up to scratch. With a better website in place, it was the opinion of all involved that The LMA would be able to position itself as an important entity within the footballing arena. The site needed to provide a credible platform for its members and commercial partners, and the potential for development and growth.

The new website is a massive step forward for The LMA. It stands to be the most comprehensive and up-to-date managers’ resource online. There was a specific gap in the online football market for a definitive resource that focused solely on managers and their achievements. Across the internet there are numerous ways of finding information and statistics on what club or which player has won what, but to find out which manager won the FA Cup in 1983 for instance, was a different matter. Digital Marmalade felt strongly that The LMA is perfectly placed to fill this gap, and now, with the website live, they can do just that.

It quickly became clear to us that we needed to build the site on a content management system in order for The LMA's staff to update, edit and delete content from their own office. Our first major task was to build the architecture for the site, which then acted as both our blueprint for a robust data platform, and as the framework for the content management system. After a lot research and image sourcing, the database was populated.

The site features a 'Who's Won What' section, which lists the winners of all competitions in the past 100 years with quality photos, statistics and manager profiles. The 'Seasons Movers' section graphically presents managerial movements over seasons. Competitions, managerial news and LMA statements are all detailed, and there is a wealth of information about The LMA and its partners. We worked with The LMA to produce a fresh new visual design for the brand, completely updating the look and feel of the site to reflect their professional status. What we have produced is a comprehensive, well designed, historical managerial archive that details everyone involved in the English game.

In addition to the site’s development, Digital Marmalade has been tasked with overseeing all of The LMA’s online commercial activities in order create new revenue streams for it. We have also been invited to develop the LMA.tv module, which will broadcast video interviews with managers over the web. We’ll update you on this soon, but for now why not have a look at the new website by clicking here.
