In Spring of 2014 we saw the launch of phase 3 of Monarch's mobile application. First launched in 2013, the user experience has now been enhanced again to take advantage of iOS7 and its new design is fresh and current. The app also has a dedicated CMS built using our own Marmalade Suite giving the client flexibility to make real time updates and send push notifications. Read the full case study for more information on how we're helping Monarch stand out in the travel sector.
Digital Marmalade have been working with News UK since February 2013, initially delivering a cross title CMS which could be used to create Crosswords. Following the success of this project, this CMS was then expanded to accommodate another 10 puzzles from The Times T2 Supplement including KenKen, Lexica, Codeword and Kakuro. After the initial release of Mind Games, we worked with News UK to implement a new Mind Games microsite in The Times application to better house and show off the puzzles offering.
Built in the Marmalade Suite the Charity Choice platform has many features that you would expect on large scale, ecommerce and social media websites. Sophisticated content management tools allow charities to create branded microsites inviting visitors to volunteer time; leave gifts in wills and support charities, appeals and causes of their choice. Users can create personal sites, fundraising events, publish news and invite friends to donate and add comments. Other features include complex financial reporting, a complaints management system, integration with HMRC for Giftaid, an advertising module and a comprehensive charity events calendar.

This powerful application is a simple five-step process that gives any retailer the ability to generate high quality point of sale printed material, at any size, for each of Gallaher's fifteen tobacco brands. The generated artwork is consistent, on-brand and complies with each of Europe's countries' strict and differing tobacco advertising laws. The user simply selects the brand, country, dimensions, selects whether to include a promotional message, and simply clicks 'download'. The application is a huge cost saver and was very quickly achieving big returns on the initial investment.
Following the integration of Earnst & Young into Cap Gemini we were invited to build an interactive brand asset management tool to assist in rolling out the new branding globally and to ensure that guidelines were followed. The solution contains interactive creation tools for brochures, folders, fact sheets, proposal covers, newsletters, point of views, exhibition stands, and PowerPoint templates. A full image gallery is included, as are downloads for colour references, templates, top tips and links to the corporate guidelines website.
As well as building higher profile mobile apps for Monarch Airlines and the Sun, amongst others, we've built A Cheeky Half, our own in-house mobile application. A Cheeky Half is an interactive guide to London's drinking establishments. The app takes advantage of the mobile's built in location mapping to allow users to evaluate pubs in their local vicinity. Admin tools allow pub owners to add photos, food menus and prices, up coming events and general information. Visitors can also rate the pubs and leave comments.
This application was commissioned by London Borough of Barking & Dagenham with the goal of improving the wellbeing of the district's youth. The website works in tangent with the Connect Youth Rewards Card (given to all 11-19 year olds) by administering data from the ParentPay cashless system (a diner money replacement) and the SmartCitizen loyalty points system. Effectively it's a central hub for managing the card's funds and facilitating the redemption of 'loyalty' points against local youth activities (ten pin bowling, gym admission etc.).
