The Brief

Eileen needed a website to raise her profile. Previously, she had no online presence and with the music and entertainment industries becoming ever more focused on this arena, it was decided that a website would help to establish her further.   The site needed to capture her personality, and at the same time appropriately reflect the classical nature of the industry she works in.

The Solution

As with any project like this, it is really important that we work with the client to establish exactly how they want to presented online. This is of utmost importance as we need to make sure that the website is reflective of the artist’s personality and image. Eileen was very clear that she wanted a website which was funky and contemporary, but also maintained her integrity as a classical musician.

The design which we produced does exactly that. Using a base of black and grey to give the site a really clean and professional look, we were then able to use a palette of bright colours to bring each page to life. The website has eight different sections – ‘Home’, ‘Music’, ‘Diary’, ‘Biography’, ‘Photos’, ‘Contact’ and ‘Mailing List’. Each of these sections have been given a unique colour theme, with the ‘Home’ page using all of the colours as tints for different photos of Eileen.

We’ve incorporated some really lovely Flash animation which gives the site a fun but slick feel as the user moves between the sections. There is a media player, which we built in Flash, seated at the top which allows the user to listen to Eileen’s music whilst browsing through the website. All of these elements are brought together by really exceptional press shots of the stunning Eileen, which have been suitably places across the website.

Through a simple Content Management System Eileen can update the site as she pleases, ensuring that her live dates and diary are always up to date. She can also change and add photographs and music as she pleases, completely independently.

It is really important for anyone working within the entertainment industry to have a very strong online presence, and we feel that we have given Eileen just that!
