English Landscapes - Website Design

English Landscapes and English Landscapes Maintenance are two subsidiary companies owned by The Landscape Group Ltd. With a combined turnover of almost £30 million and employing over 400 staff, it is a market leading company with over 20 National Awards.

English Landscapes Ltd wanted a traditional website which encompassed the two businesses within the group – ‘Building’ and ‘Maintenance’. It was paramount that the website presented it as the assured and professional business that it is, and that each business had its own identity.

The Solution

Because this project involved two different businesses within one group, it was important that we created a very clear and defined production plan explaining every step of the build. Once this was done, we presented it to both parties and answered any production queries that they had.

The two sites are both based upon identical structures, but each has its own individual colour scheme. This gives both of the companies a much stronger combined proposition, as well as enabling us to make the most of the budget by sharing backend programming resources. Because both share one administration area, time and money was saved on developing just one Content Management System.

We suggested that the best way for English Landscapes to present itself was through photographs of its construction and maintenance work. High quality, colourful photographs of particular sites were commissioned under our advice. We made these central to the websites’ design, and used a slick, neat layout using very neutral colours to allow them to really shine through. Overall, the site successfully reflects the extremely professional and established nature of the company.
