Amhurst Brown Colombotti is an international law firm based in central London, handling cross-border business and private matters spanning Europe, the Middle East and the US. Following its corporate re-brand in 2000, Amhurst Brown Colombotti turned to Digital Marmalade to introduce its new look online. The site needed to manage and navigate a wealth of company information, while introducing the user to the firm’s new image.
ABC’s new visual identity translated well into a cool, clean layout, incorporating key elements such as the photography, colour schemes and typography that were a common thread in their offline media. The majority of the site has been built in Flash, taking what would normally be run of the mill brochure wear and transforming it into an online presence that reflects the dynamic and entrepreneurial nature of Amhurst Brown Colombotti.
Motion graphics were used to enhance features such as the interface, team profiles, news feeds and the location map. Despite the Flash bias, all of the content has corresponding preformatted pages. Behind the scenes, a database works hand-in-hand with ASP to produce categorised, fully searchable news articles. An automated, password protected, administration system allows ABC to maintain this section. Using a customised content management system, staff at ABC can add, update, archive and delete articles.
After the site was launched, Digital Marmalade spent time at ABC, instructing members of the IT department in maintenance and design techniques, as well as providing some software training.
