Digital Marmalade Wins JTL Website Re-design Contract

We are pleased to announce that Digital Marmalade has won the contract to redevelop JTL Limited’s website.   JTL Limited is well known as one of the largest work-based learning providers in the country, and is now the leading training provider to the building services engineering sector.   It offers advanced apprenticeships in a five vocational areas, training people to be:

  • Electricians
  • Plumbers
  • Maintenance Engineers
  • Heating and Ventilation Engineers
  • Motor Rewind and Repair Craftspeople

We were called into JTL because it was reviewing its website.  JTL wanted to assess how the site could be more appealing to its target audience.  The main point that we recognised, was that JTL has five different target audiences.  We suggested that the new site should be broken into five different sites. These could all share the same administration area, but look different and use language appropriate to the target audience. We proposed that these five sites should fall under the following categories:

  • Young People
  • Parents and Carers
  • Careers Advisers
  • Employers
  • Corporate sector

Based on the ideas that we pitched, the presentation that we gave and the strategy that we proposed, we won the contract to redesign the ‘Young People’ website.

We will be developing on the ‘look and feel’ of JTL’s print collateral, and using that as a basis for the website design.  At the same time we are going to be recreating the site’s structure, and building content management tools to give them the flexibility to update it themselves.

This is a big success for Digital Marmalade. We will be keeping you updated on the progress of the project!
