Since 1968, Monarch has been flying holiday makers to destinations all over the world. Traditionally the company has targeted sales at its domestic market in the UK, however www.monarch.it is about to change all that!
Working with Transive, Digital Marmalade has helped Monarch launch its first foreign language website which will specifically target holiday makers in Italy planning to visit the UK. The site focuses on marketing three main tourist destinations that Monarch flies into from Italy – London, Birmingham and Manchester – and each of these cities has its own site section with useful information, ‘top ten things to do’ and a city events calendar.
However, it wasn’t enough just to translate these ‘city guide’ pages into Italian. To make the whole process of discovering a destination and booking a flight seamless, Digital Marmalade modified Monarch’s booking engine to accept multi-languages meaning that the whole booking path could be presented to customers in Italian too!
Having only been launched for a short while, the site is already booking hundreds of flights per week – which is a right royal success for Monarch!
