The Chapel Hair & Beauty New Year, New Design

We love working with The Chapel so when they approached us to undertake another redesign of their website, we were more than happy to get stuck in.
Digital Marmalade were originally commissioned to design The Chapel’s website in 2001 and have been working with them ever since, refreshing the site to reflect the evolution of their brand. They are award winning, trend setting, forward thinking, and customer and quality focussed. Their salons are also beautifully designed - all this needed to be reflected in their website while bringing the look and feel up to date.
The Chapel are also very active socially and had the addition of The Chapel TV last year. They make sure that their blog and news are up to date, so their customers are always kept informed and interested. We therefore needed social features to have a strong presence on the home page to instantly connect with their audience and keep the site feeling fresh, then keep these features easily accessible throughout the site.
Digital Marmalade answered with a design that has an instant wow factor utilising The Chapel’s large, high quality photographs on the home page of the salon interiors. Photography is important throughout, showing off not just their salons but their work and their staff. We made The Chapel TV a prominent feature on their home page, reflecting the growing trend for increased customer engagement and conversions through the use of video up front.
The site and home page in particular utilise scrolling, parallax and touches of animation adding movement and interest as a user scrolls down the page. Social icons are not only at the top, but can also be found on the left, keeping the social element available at all times.
The look and feel is clean and contemporary, high quality with attention to detail, reflecting The Chapel’s ethos as a business. It has hints of luxury and decadence that aren’t overpowering - the focus remains on the quality of their work and engaging with their customers.
