Total Football Launched with brand new website

Total Football in partnership with Fusion Lifestyle

We recently went live with the website for Fusion’s brand new dedicated football facility, Total Football.

Fusion Lifestyle is a sports and leisure management organisation with over 80 sites in London and the South East providing sport, health and fitness activities and facilities to local communities.

Total Football is based at New River Sport & Fitness which is the new name for White Hart Lane Community Sports Centre. It aims to be London’s premier footballing facility, housing 22 pitches including a full size stadium pitch with all-weather 3G turf technology.

Although managed by Fusion, Total Football is standalone so the website had to be unique while complementing the existing Fusion style.

Working with Fusion and their brand agency, Ever After, we designed the website to be bold but clean, with urban touches and large format photography that shows off the facilities available. It is easy to navigate, with features such as league tables and fixture lists, simple forms to apply to join a league or team, and news and events listings.

On the back end, we have built the Total Football CMS into Fusion’s existing platform built using our Marmalade Suite. This also houses their Campaign Manager and Great Outdoors site manager, as well as tools for managing general site content, SEO, and user permissions.

The Total Football CMS required new and more sophisticated features and tools than Fusion have needed before. In particular, and key to the success of the project and Total Football as a facility, is the ability to easily and comprehensively manage teams and leagues.

To allow for this, we created bespoke tools. A user fills in a form on the front end to find a team or join a league, and a site admin is notified with their details. The team is created in the CMS and added to a league and division. Once a league division has the required number of teams, the admin simply adds a start date and kick off times and hits the ‘Generate Fixtures’ button. This then populates with all the fixtures and their dates and times in the CMS but also in a neat list on the front end.

The admin also then enters each fixture result into the CMS, and league tables are automatically created. League tables, fixture lists and results are all searchable and viewable on the front end.

As well as the league management functionality, the rest of the CMS is flexible and intuitive, including homepage promotion and banner creation and ordering, facility addition and management, price lists, a news module, SEO tools, and contact information.

Last but certainly not least, the Total Football CMS really comes into its own with the inclusion of our custom page builder. This bespoke tool properly hands over the reins to Fusion as it allows them to build and publish custom pages, using simple widget drag and drop functionality.

All this has resulted – front and back end – in a stylish, dynamic and formative solution for Total Football that is easily scalable when, for example, this first site grows or if indeed Total Football is rolled out across other Fusion sites.

On a final aesthetic note, the aerial photography on the site was taken on our very own drone, flown by our very own Marcus!

Digital Marmalade and Fusion now turn our attention to the website for New River Sport & Fitness. When the physical site is completed, it will provide state-of-the-art health and fitness facilities with a focus on quality. Our website will match this, so watch this space for further news!
