Tours, Cruises & Safaris Added To The Cosmos Holidays Website

Cosmos - Experiences

The ‘Tours, Cruises and Safaris’ section of the Cosmos Holidays website has now gone live. This addition to the site, which falls under the ‘Distant Dreams’ section, hugely broadens Cosmos’ product offering - users can book specialist holidays from Nile Cruises, Kenyan Safaris to Golden Triangle Tours.

The ‘Destination Guides’ have been updated and now have links to these ‘Distant Dreams’ holidays, making full use of internal linking and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).   ‘Touring Holidays’, ‘Cruising Holidays’ and ‘Safari Holidays’ each have their own homepage, which is ideal for SEO purposes. Each of these three sub-sections follows the same structure; the user can view each holiday’s itinerary, read through highlights of the tour, and browse through a rich supply of images and maps. The user can also choose to extend their holiday with a hotel stay. Because of the differences in the holidays available, new booking paths have been created. We worked closely with the Cosmos IT department to get the inventory matched with the new content and the booking paths that were already in place. Once the user has checked the availability of their chosen holiday, they follow the standard Cosmos booking path – developed from the knowledge gained during usability testing.

The processes involved in building this area of the website have been complex – new copy was written, photographs sourced, maps illustrated, and the content management system altered to accommodate the new information. We have also worked closely with the SEO company iCrossing (formerly Spannerworks) to ensure that key words and search terms are in place within the copy.

This addition to the site is another significant development landmark in this ongoing project.
